Bossy Nic is set to resume at Flemington on Saturday in the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m), with connections confident the conditions will suit.
The five-year-old has an impressive straight track record, boasting two wins and a placing from four starts over the course and distance.
She captured the Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes in March 2023 and also scored on a soft track during the Lightning Stakes program.
“She’s got a really good straight track record… the set-up on Saturday looks ideal,” said racing manager Rayan Moore.
Bossy Nic comes in fresh off a Ballarat synthetic trial and will benefit from the blinkers going back on.
With a rating of 88, Moore says she’s well placed in a field that includes topweights Joyful Fortune and the Corstens-trained Marble Nine and Lady In Pink.
“She’s a good quality mare and I think we’re in for a really good prep,” Moore said.
