Broadsiding will retire from racing and join Darley’s stallion roster for 2025, the stable announced on Tuesday.
The son of Too Darn Hot, trained by James Cummings, finishes his career with seven wins from 15 starts. His last race was a 10th-place finish in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes on Saturday, won by Jimmysstar.
Earlier, Broadsiding claimed victory in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) among four Group 1 wins. He also triumphed in the Golden Rose (1400m) and won both the Champagne Stakes and J J Atkins as a two-year-old.
Broadsiding will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the Hunter Valley, with a fee of $66,000, including GST.
He’ll be joined by Traffic Warden, a dual Group 2 winner and two-time Group 1 placegetter, who will stand for $22,000.
Other stallions at Kelvinside include Too Darn Hot, Anamoe, Harry Angel, and Bivouac, while Street Boss leads the roster at Northwood Park in Seymour. Darley’s Alastair Pulford expressed excitement over the team of stallions.
“This is an outstanding group of stallions – a world-class line-up,” Pulford said.
Darley has adjusted the fees for several stallions, including Too Darn Hot at $275,000 and Anamoe at $110,000.
