Race 1: 11-10-7-1
All the money points to a successful debut from 11 STREET IMPACT the well-bred Street Cry frilly (out of a g1 winner) to get C Williams away again on premiership chase on day that looks attractive too him. She won a Pakenham trial (ok) after good jumpouts so looks primed to go and money says yes. 10 QUIK NU CHICK has been off scene since excellent debut with an off-fore suspensory strain but looks prepped enough to give Beau Mertens a chance to keep Williams busy. 7 TROJAN STORM drops back to maiden company, 1 EVOPEX had no luck getting clear when momentum required last time and right in this.

Race 2: 2-5-3-1
Pretty evenly matched here these fillies (ratings tell you that too) so some good piloting and luck in transit may be the difference and think 2 GOOD OH is due that, very tough last time. Ready for the 1400m here. So too was 4 YISA who was wide and now has blinkers and drawn for better advantage. 3 TRES and 1 LADY SKILLS right in this as is 9 BELLA MIA and 5 BELLARIA, so deep race.
SUGGESTED: Go with 2 GOOD OH $4.80 bet now – looks ready to peak.
Race 3: 12-5-7-3
Going with C Williams again here and he has a good ally in D K Weir with 12 SEA THE SPARKLE resuming. Won first up in first preparation at 1400m before stretching out to what will be better trips but now more seasoned as is a Northern Hemisphere 4YO more mature now. Had more upside than these. 5 BLUE TYCOON hasn’t been able to crack it for a win but hasn’t run poorly and again gives Mertens a competitive chance. Big query and respected is 7 ALWARD first-up Australia, jumpout was good and a gelded important under Waller’s care seems to have shown more zip for this trip than his UK record suggests. 3 SPUNLUAGO won well fresh, place hope.
SUGGESTED: Think 12 SEA THE SPARKLE $4.20 bet now as will be heading somewhere better than mid-week grade.
Race 4: 2-3-6-5
The scratching of the in-form 1 Whirlpool opens this up for 2 ASHLEY MARIE who probably now looks most likely to assume it’s position as leader and think that is the advantage 3 MARAUDAMISS who will be doing some chasing to get her. 6 STREET SPUN will also appreciate the 2100m now. 4 BIRDS OF TOKYO in the game and a more serious player if track gets towards heavy range, this is bottom end of competitive advantage.

Race 5: 3-11-6-2
Well 3 YOGI has been the mid-week punter’s friend at Sandown at last two appearances and should be again as he continues his progression up the ratings and the mental ability scale. He takes some riding but finds the line like a horse heading to Saturdays and beyond. He carried the 60kg well last time but that said he has a 2.5kg negative on 11 THE WILLYBE who will keep him working to win it again. Standout quinella! 6 MANAPINE has the ability (brings some Sayed form from excellent 2nd-up run) and may now have the issues behind as gets into a long campaign by his standards. 2 NORTHERN JOURNEY is a bit of a staple in these sort of races – place hope.
SUGGESTED: Back 3 YOGI $2 bet now and load up on the quinella 3/11.
Race 6: 10-11-8-13
Ok after a skinny first leg of the quaddie this is tough especially when you are working with the ill-named 10 HE’S A MORAL (7 2nds) and the enigmatic 11 WALL STREET WOLF as your main thought provokers. The former has Williams (that would be 4 for him), good draw and typically sound fresh-up. The latter has jumped out well (can do that) and some gear changes (stable does that a lot). 8 EPIC MOMENT is well graded and respecting 13 I BOOGI who has been scratched a few times lately.
SUGGESTED: Load up quaddie.
Race 7: 6-5-10-11
Again going with girls in form and love the odds here 6 STRANGEST DREAM whose country wins have been impressive, especially latest when had to extricate from traffic at vital stage. 5 CRAFTY DEVIL hasn’t been winning but threatening too, gets away from a couple of synthetic track runs for this. 11 PRECIOUS JOURNEY had little luck in straight last time and gets Williams. 1O LOVANI brings the Spanish Reef form and should be a solid on-pace chance though swoopers normally advantaged by this stage.

Race 8: 4-14-10-11
Williams will be all the rage here with 14 GALAXY RAIDER who had clear (couldn’t get clear) excuses at Bendigo but has made that a bit of a habit. Sure he can win but right now he’s about $2.90 and I think 4 RIYADH is a better gamble, given it brings winning form including a Saturday Flemington when I like the way it took all the presented runs to find the line again. 11 SWEET MELODY first-up but off the back of Avoca and St Arnaud trials is a player. Next would be 13 and 2.
SUGGESTED: 4 RIYADH better value than the favourite at $6.50 bet now
