Capital Gain claims Group One JJ Atkins

Blinkers have provided a Group One spark for Capital Gain with the Jim Byrne-ridden two-year-old claiming the JJ Atkins at Doomben.

One of the outsiders in the 1600m race, Capital Gain produced a long, deep run to beat Aloisia and Taking Aim.

The win continued a profitable winter carnival for Byrne, a long-time leading jockey in Brisbane.
