Chris Waller readies $5m All Star Mile team

Chris Waller said he hoped to have one or two starters in The All-Star Mile at The Valley on March 13 but the race had to fit into a horse’s program.

He identified Verry Elleegant as an ideal horse for The All-Star Mile.

“If I set Verry Elleegant for the All-Star Mile she would be hard to beat but only if doesn’t impact on races like the Queen Elizabeth,” Waller said.

Waller said Verry Elleegant would most likely resume in the Apollo Stakes over 1400 metres at Randwick on February 13.

He said that the five-year-old mare had returned to work a heavier horse which he was pleased with and would make it easier to train her.

He said that in other campaigns she had to have a month between her first and second runs back from a spell but he would be able to go two weeks between runs this time in.
