ATC @ HAWKESBURY

WEDNESDAY 15 NOVEMBER

TRACK:  GOOD 3                       RAIL:    +3M 1300m-400m, True remainder

BEST BETS:      Race 1             No.1     AONAIR

                             Race 3             No.1     DREAM I CAN

Race 4             No.9     ENVY OF ALL

Race 1

1 – 5 – 6 – 2

For a small field there looks enough pressure for AONAIR to sit back and then able to round them up in the run home. She had a little freshen up in readiness for today. She has the class edge of her rivals here with the only little concern being the 1800m. Second pick is the stablemate HIGH DUDE who comes off a good effort when second behind promising staying type All Too Soon.

Race 2

8 – 3 – 10 – 5

TIKI BAR picks herself here coming off a solid second at Canterbury when just failed to run down Empress Matilda. She st4eps to 1300m which shouldn’t pose too many problems and with the Gai Waterhouse pair rolling forward she looks to get a nice bunny to chase. The current price of $1.7 seems under the odds for me. I do think the Waterhouse/Bott pair CHAIN OF FOLLS and WIDE SPREAD PANIC are the dangers and may just give a big enough kick and be hard to get past.

Race 3

1 – 8 – 5 – 4

DREAM I CAN gets his chance to finally break his maiden status here at his twelfth start. He has run six placings with some of them behind horses who have gone onto win multiple races. He has found a race with limited depth and he only has to be half fair dinkum to get the job done here. STARRING looks the one if Dream I Can doesn’t want to win as he turns up here off a nice trial at Warwick Farm.

Race 4

9 – 4 – 10 – 2

ENVY OF ALL is the one to beat here especially having drawn barrier one which will allow her to stalk the leaders and be ready to pounce. Last start she was beaten comfortably by Bon Amis but that galloper did go to town last Saturday and win again in better grade. She should be better suited up to the 1000m and the drop to 54kg. PHUKET is first up and must be respected off some very good runs last preparation. ELEAZAR was very good here a fortnight ago beating a couple of horses who have run well since Brunch and Oleksandra.

Race 5

4 – 7 – 2 – 1

Nothing really went right for MARBLE first up at Warwick Farm when beaten as a short priced favourite. The raps have always been big on this colt and if they are to be right he’d have to win and win well today. From barrier one he will get a nice run and if he brings his trial form he should win. LISDOONVARNA’s two wins might have only been at Nowra but she looks a promising type capable of taking the step to provincial and even city grade.

Race 6

10 – 4 – 3 – 2

This looks a very open race with a stack of chances. I’ve put RADIANT CHOICE on top as he will take up a prominent spot and has more scope for improvement than most others. If he runs up to his efforts behind To Excess or his winning run when accounting for Kettering he will be there for a good while. It’s a lottery for mine.

Race 7

6 – 2 – 4 – 5

Looks an open race to finish the day with plenty of winning chances. I’ve got RAISE AN ARMY on top following his last start tough effort in winning at Kembla over the mile. I keep looking that he is by Sepoy but he is out of an Arena mare so perhaps he is getting the staying blood from her. The soft barrier will aid his chances here.
