Finally Realise looking good ahead of quick back up

Peter Robl’s in-form gelding Finally Realise will be on a quick back up on Wednesday after a narrow defeat at Kensington just last week.

After narrowly missing out on a third win last week, Peter Robl will back up Finally Realise on Wednesday at Randwick-Kensington.

The four-year-old will line up in the Vinery Handicap (1250m) after being caught wide the trip last start and getting nosed out at the finishing post for a 0.07 length defeat.

The son of All Too Hard hasn’t finished worse than fourth in his seven runs this campaign, banking over $56,000 in prizemoney.

Robl said Finally Realise is looking great and is showing no signs of slowing down.

“He’s done really well since the other day, hence why I’m happy to back him up,” he said.

“He’s just kept improving nicely throughout his preparation.

“He’s had seven runs this prep, but he’s a hearty little bugger and I’m really happy with the way he’s going.

“He’s shown no signs whatsoever of needing to stop his preparation.”

“He’s looking terrific.”

The covid-19 situation has forced changes within the Sydney racing scene, but Finally Realise has been the beneficiary.

The four-year-old has taken a liking to the Kensington surface, with more meetings taken place at the Randwick track than usual due to the virus.

Robl said it’s about survival in the hopes to find the next Group One winner.

“The thing that’s been a little beneficial from covid, is that they’ve had a lot of meetings transferred to the Kensington track and he seems to appreciate racing on the Kensington,” he said.

“Without covid, these meetings would’ve been at Warwick Farm and what have you.

“it’s just about surviving and grinding along and hopefully you find a good one.

“We’re only a small stable and you just battle through and live in hope to find a good one and horses like Finally Realise, they certainly make the job easier.”

Finally Realise has opened as the $3.60 second favourite for Wednesday’s race with tab.com.au.
