Forecast rain forces meeting transfer

With the forecast of rain, Racing Victoria has moved a Ballarat meeting to Werribee.

Heavy overnight rain with more forecast has resulted in an upcoming meeting at Ballarat being transferred to Werribee.

Racing Victoria made the decision before acceptances were taken on Thursday to move Sunday’s Ballarat meeting.

The decision was precautionary with Ballarat already rated a Heavy 10 after receiving heavy overnight rain while more rain has been forecast.

With synthetic meetings already programmed for Pakenham on Monday and Ballarat on Tuesday, RV decided on another turf program rather than wait until Sunday before initiating a transfer to the synthetic track, if required.

Werribee was rated in the soft range on Thursday morning while the transfer of the meeting has resulted in the two 1200-metre races being reduced to 1100 metres.
