Zac Lloyd and Tim Clark made their trip to Warwick Farm count, each taking victory in the opening two races. Lloyd, aboard the Matthew Smith-trained Idle Flyer ($1.35), worked hard to reel in Metaphorically ($3.50), eventually winning by half a length in a thrilling three-horse battle in the Precise Air Handicap (1400m). Smith admitted he had hoped for an easier win but praised Idle Flyer’s determination, noting, “She only does the bare minimum, doesn’t she? But she found again, which is a good sign of a good horse when they find again under pressure.” With three wins from five starts, Smith has his eye on bigger fillies’ races this autumn.

Meanwhile, Tim Clark partnered Spaceballs to a late victory in the 2025 Stud and Stable Staff Awards Plate (1200m), training under the Ciaron Maher stable. Johann Gerard-Dubord, Maher’s Sydney foreman, highlighted the filly’s potential, saying, “She has always been showing plenty of talent.” Spaceballs may target the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) on March 14 as part of her autumn campaign.
