Home Of The Brave out of The Everest

Godolphin’s Home Of The Brave has been withdrawn from the $13 million race because of an elevated temperature with stablemate Osborne Bulls to take his place as the runner for slot holder, the Australian Turf Club.

Trainer James Cummings told Racing NSW stewards Home Of The Brave’s temperature was high after trackwork on Tuesday.

Racing NSW chief veterinary officer Dr Toby Koenig inspected Home Of The Brave and reported the gelding presented with an elevated temperature, was lethargic and a blood haematology test had revealed abnormalities.

Koenig determined he was not fit to race on Saturday.

Osborne Bulls was one of six Everest emergencies named on Tuesday morning from the nominations for the Group Three Sydney Stakes on the Everest program.
