Is it splitsville for the Waterhouse/ Bott training partnership?

Just Racing has learned that the training partnership between Hall Of Famer GAI WATERHOUSE and Adrian Bott is on the rocks and will come to end at the conclusion of the current racing season in eight weeks time.

Twelve months ago, when Waterhouse inked a training partnership with Bott many believed the most recognisable face in racing would take a back seat to the younger partner in the day to day training of the horses and in time sail into retirement spending more time with her beautiful grandchildren.

JUST RACING understands Waterhouse will be making plenty of time for her grandchildren but retirement is out of the question and come August 1 racings’ biggest star will be back at the helm of Tulloch Lodge.

With the ‘cone of silence’ being adopted by all connected to the Waterhouse and Bott camp we are unsure whether Bott will continue to train or look for another role within the racing industry.

The season to date has seen the Waterhouse/Bott team prepare 130 winners across the country raking in prizemoney of just over $8.2 million.

Their home base at Randwick has lead in 107 winners in NSW with only 47 of them being city winners which leaves the team some 89 winners in arrears of champion trainer Chris Waller.
