Apprentice James Innes Jr will miss the Rosehill meeting after failing to recover from an injured shoulder.

Innes hurt his shoulder in an incident at Kembla Grange on Thursday aboard Teodosio who was crowded between runners shortly after the start of a 1000m-race.

The jockey went to a physiotherapist on Friday but is not fit enough to take his five mounts on Saturday.

Innes finished equal third with Nick Heywood in last season’s Sydney apprentice’s premiership.
