A second female jockey is dead in as many days after a fall during race in Darwin.

The female jockey had been riding at Fannie Bay when it is understood her horse fell, and later died in hospital on Saturday night.

It comes just a day after apprentice jockey Mikaela Claridge died from injuries suffered in a trackwork accident in Victoria.
