Damien Oliver will ride Ace High in the Caulfield Cup with Tye Angland failing to get a reduction in a careless riding ban.

Angland’s appeal against the severity of a four-meeting suspension incurred in last Saturday’s Spring Champion Stakes was heard in Sydney on Friday, with the jockey needing to get a one-meeting reduction in order to ride in the Caulfield Cup.

Angland starts his suspension after Saturday’s meeting at Randwick where he will ride Trapeze Artist in the $13 million Everest.

The David Payne-trained Victoria Derby winner Ace High won the Hill Stakes at Randwick at his most recent start and is at $13 in Caulfield Cup markets.

Oliver has won four Caulfield Cups with his most recent aboard Sky Heights in 1999.
