Top mare Joliestar will begin her spring in the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes at Rosehill, her first outing since securing a slot in The Everest (1200m).
The Newmarket Handicap and Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) winner was confirmed this week to represent Chris Waller Racing and Partners, having finished an unlucky seventh in last year’s Everest.
“She’s just gone from strength to strength,” Waller said.
“What she did in the Newmarket was exceptional and to back it up in Brisbane shows the quality she possesses. She’s matured beautifully and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back for The Everest.”
Joliestar boasts three wins from five first-up runs and is a $2.25 favourite for Saturday’s Sheraco, while rated a $13 chance for The Everest.
She becomes the fifth confirmed runner for the $20 million feature, joining Ka Ying Rising, Briasa, Private Harry and Jimmysstar.
The Sheraco and the $2 million The Kosciuszko (1200m) will both be run at Randwick on October 18.
