Kiwi trainer Pike fined over scratchings

New Zealand trainer Tony Pike has been fined $500 after two of his horses were late scratchings at Doomben.

Stewards withdrew Sacred Master from the Listed Members Handicap and Bostonian from the Queensland Day Handicap after a report by integrity staff officers.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said the officers found that a treatment had been given each horse outside the legal time limit in Queensland.

Stewards took into account the treatments had been entered in the correct record book and it appeared to be a case of a misunderstanding of rules between Queensland and New Zealand.
