Levendi has won the $2 million Group One Australian Derby in a thrilling photo finish with favourite Ace High at Randwick.

The colts broke away in the straight and fought right to the end before jockey Mark Zahra got Levendi over the line in Australia’s premier staying race (2400m), with Tangled in third.

The result by trainer Peter Gelagotis’ three-year-old denied Ace High completing a rare Victoria Derby-ATC Australian Derby double.
