Lindsay Park is strengthening its Queensland Carnival team, with two of its three Caulfield winners now set to head north for major races.
The Ben, Will, and JD Hayes-trained stable dominated the meeting, claiming victories with Madiyya, Angry Skies, and War Machine. War Machine, who previously raced under Mike Moroney and Glen Thompson, will aim for a spot in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap after bouncing back from a luckless second at Mornington with a dominant 1400m win. “He’s an exciting horse heading up to Queensland now,” Ben Hayes said. “We’ll look to run in the BRC Sprint in two weeks’ time.”
Madiyya, a promising three-year-old filly, made it back-to-back wins with an impressive 1400m victory in a benchmark 70 fillies race. Will Hayes said they would monitor her recovery before considering races like the Fred Best (Classic) and a potential trip north.
Angry Skies, at $41, claimed the final win for Lindsay Park, taking out the 1600m benchmark 84 event for a second consecutive victory.
War Machine ($1.90) and Madiyya ($2.05) were both well-backed, but Angry Skies provided a surprise at longer odds.
