Queensland stewards have found no fault with jockey Jeff Lloyd’s ride on Showashadow after listening to a complaint from co-trainer Will Hulbert,

The stewards asked Hulbert and Lloyd to attend an inquiry after Hulbert was overheard making public comments about the ride in the Two-Year-Old Hcp (1350m).

Showashadow jumped from the outside barrier in a field of 10 and was caught deep before finishing well back.

Hulbert, who trains with his father Peter, said Lloyd’s instructions were to go forward and sit outside the leader.

“Showashadow jumped the best she has ever jumped and beat them out but he sat there three-deep,” Hulbert said.

Lloyd said he was a victim of circumstance because apprentice Alannah Fancourt has kept him wide when she went forward on Never In Doubt.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said he could understand Hulbert’s frustrations but did not find Lloyd was at fault.

“After viewing the footage, we find Lloyd had shown an intention to race outside the leader but was a victim of circumstances,” Reardon said.

He warned Hulbert to bring any complaints to the stewards room in the future and not make loud public statements.
