It was believed London’s Image had reached the end of a lengthy, successful six-month campaign following her run in the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy last Saturday week, but trainer Ryan Hill had a change of heart.

“That was the plan, give her a good break after being up for so long, but she was just doing too good,” Hill said. “She flew to Melbourne on Thursday and we’ll look at a couple of races across the weekend, there are a few options for her.”

While the initial plan was to rest her after the Magic Millions, Hill noted that she pulled up well and is showing no signs of slowing down.

London’s Image has seen her career soar since winning second-up at Bunbury in September. Though versatile, her frontrunning style and fierce determination have earned her a loyal following.

She gained stakes attention with a victory in the Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m), a close second in the Placid Ark Stakes (1200m), and another runner-up finish in the Lee Steere Classic (1400m). After a short break, she claimed consecutive wins, including a second Listed victory in the Breeders’ Classic before finishing a heartbreaking second in the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy.

The buildup to the $250,000 race was dramatic, with Hill losing regular jockey Brad Parnham to injury earlier in the day. London’s Image, who has a tendency to shift out in the straight, was overtaken by Smooth Chino and lost by a long neck.

“She lost no admirers in defeat,” Hill said. “It was just unfortunate what happened to Brad. She’s a hard horse to ride and she drew a terrible barrier.”

Parnham, fresh off his Pinjarra Classic win with Snowdome, expressed his desire to partner with London’s Image in Melbourne. “She’s going to be nominated for a couple of races on Friday and Saturday,” he said. “We’ll take a look at the noms and assess what’s the best option for her. I’d be keen to go over.”

London’s Image holds nominations for the Listed Abell Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday and the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.
