Trainer Mick Price believes Miss Roumbini is primed to deliver a well-deserved win when she lines up in the $2 million The Invitation at Randwick on Saturday.
The five-year-old mare was scratched from the Alan Brown Stakes (1400m) earlier this month after picking up a mild travel illness but has since bounced back strongly.
“She got a travel bug on the way to Sydney, but her blood picture is good now and her gallop Saturday morning was super duper,” Price said. “She’s nice and bright… I think she’ll be hard to beat.”
Miss Roumbini, who won the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares in January, has finished runner-up in both starts this spring, including the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
She will jump from barrier seven with Adam Hyeronimus aboard and shares early favouritism with Group 1 winner Manaal.
