Note that we can see who has liked and shared the post AND liked the page and only those individuals will be eligible to join the competition.

 

Now there are some rules and fine print so please ensure you read the below and understand. Any questions just let me know.

 

The winner of this knockout competition will not only win the ultimate bragging rights amongst your mates but will also win EITHER $500 cash from Mounting Yard Live to you OR a $500 bet.

 

This means for the winner, you get a choice this time around as to whether you take the money or bet the $500.  I will reach into my own pocket, pull out 10 crisp $50 notes and either give you the cash or place it on a horse of your choice on course with a bookmaker. If you decide to bet the $500 and the bet wins you get the lot. It’s all yours! All of it!!

Rules

 

• It’s a knockout competition. If you are successful in the first week, then you move onto the following week and so on until we have a winner

 

• Each Saturday morning I will put up a post on this site asking for everyone’s selection. You must post your selection in the comments section under that post.

 

• YOUR SELECTION MUST COME FROM A RACE IN EITHER SATURDAY’S MAJOR SYDNEY OR MAJOR MELBOURNE METROP MEETING

 

• Selections must be in by 11:30AM SYDNEY TIME ON SATURDAY. That means those in Perth need to get their selections in early! We have pushed this time back by 30 minutes as we had a few miss out last competition so trying to avoid that. Selections however after this time will be void.

 

• You can select a horse to WIN or to PLACE but it must pay $1.50 or more TOP TOTE at correct weight. No fixed pricing accepted. Don’t just assume that picking place bets will be easier than win bets. We had quite a few knocked out taking short priced favorites for the place last time. If you don’t stipulate a win or a place I will assume it’s a win bet. Win bets must win. Place bets can win or place but must pay $1.50 or more top tote the place.

 

• You may select the same horse as someone else

 

• IF YOUR SELECTION IS SCRATCHED YOU ARE ELIMINATED. Waiting for final scratchings on Saturday morning is advised.

 

• If you are on the wrong end of a protest you are out.

 

• VERY IMPORTANT: ANY EDITED POST WILL BE CONSIDERED VOID. Can’t have people changing their selections after the races. If you make a mistake when writing your selection then delete the post and re-write it but remember it must be before 11:30am Sydney time on Saturday mornings. Any corrections made after 11:30am Sydney time will be considered Void

 

• Only one selection per person. If I see multiple posts then all your selections will be considered Void.

 

• You have to commence at the start of this knockout competition. No re-joins.

 

• When we get down to the final round contestants if all select a winning horse they move on to the next week and continue until we get a result. If one selects a resulting bet and the other(s) do not then we have a winner. IF ALL SELECT A BET THAT DOESN’T RESULT THEN ALL HAVE TO PLAY OFF AGAIN IN THE FINALS. WE MUST HAVE A WINNER!!
