Neindorf eyes big day at Gawler in final push for jockeys’ title

Lachlan Neindorf is treating Saturday’s Gawler meeting as a make-or-break moment in his bid for the Adelaide Jockey Premiership.

With just four metropolitan meetings left, the 23-year-old sits third in the standings on 36 wins—three behind Taylor Johnstone and six off leader Rochelle Milnes.

“If I am going to be a chance, this Saturday looks my time to come out and put a few on the board,” Neindorf said.

He has eight rides on the nine-race card and is optimistic about his trio for trainer Phillip Stokes, including favourite Stolen Kiss, debutant Bargain Boy, and equal market pick Signs From Above.

“Garcon Renard looks a great chance as well for Peter and Belinda Blanch. I really think he should’ve won last start.”

Neindorf has enjoyed a standout season, winning the Group 1 SA Derby on Femminile and placing in both the Black Caviar Lightning and Newmarket Handicap aboard Stretan Angel.

“My goal has always been to ride in bigger races and be recognised as a top rider,” he said.
