Short-priced favourite Pierata has passed a second veterinary inspection and will take his place in the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast.

Queensland Racing Integrity Commission vets conducted the usual inspections of runners in the Guineas and the Magic Millions Classic on Thursday and wanted to see several again on Friday.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said the vets had again inspected Pierata and were happy with his action.

Trainer Greg Hickman said it had been nothing to worry about.

But the Matt Dunn Arrestar has been scratched from the Guineas after being found to be lame in a hind leg.

First emergency I Am Impinge will now get a start on Saturday and be ridden by Jeff Lloyd.

Reardon said an abscess had come through on Lady Of Crebilly’s hind leg and there would be another inspection before she was allowed to run in the Guineas.

“Smartedge has been passed as has Wild Heart in the Guineas while the vets also passed Society Lady in the Two-Year-Old Classic,” Reardon said.

The vets will also assess Classic hopefuls Quackerjack and Paquiri later on Friday but there are no major concerns with them at this stage.

Victorian filly Anthemoessa arrived in Queensland on Friday morning and also passed an inspection.

Another Victorian horse Nikitas missed the plane to Brisbane and was scratched from the Cup.
