Prizemoney bonus boost announced for Inglis buyers

Inglis buyers now have access to an additional $1.55 million in bonuses with the introduction of the $1 million Inglis Pink Bonus Series.

Those who buy into yearlings offered for sale at next weekend’s Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney are the first eligible for the bonuses.

The Pink Bonus is an incentive for buyers from this year, whereby a purchase is fully paid up for the Inglis Race Series and registered as minimum 75 percent female owned.

Qualified ownership groups will then run for an added $1m in Pink Bonus prizemoney in designated races in the race series, broken down by:

* $400,000 bonus to the first eligible horse home in the Inglis Millennium.

* $200,000 bonus to the first eligible horse home in the Inglis Sprint.

* $200,000 bonus to the first eligible horse home in the Inglis Banner.

* $200,000 bonus to the first eligible horse home in the Inglis Nursery.

In addition to the Pink Bonus, a number of races in the Series will receive significant prizemoney boosts.

* Inglis Sprint – increase from $750,000 to $1,000,000

* Inglis Banner – increase from $400,000 to $500,000

* Inglis Nursery – increase from $400,000 to $500,000

* Inglis Bracelet – increase from $250,000 to $350,000

The changes will come into effect for horses born in 2020 that are purchased through the Inglis Sales Series at are registered for the Inglis Race Series.

Inglis Bloodstock chief executive Sebastian Hutch said the Pink Bonus was aimed at increasing ownership in the industry as well as to give existing owners the chance to race for more prizemoney.

“We work to service existing owners throughout the year, as well as engaging and developing new participants, it’s a fundamental part of our business and we have been working on suitable incentives to complement that work for some time,” Hutch said.

“Australia is the envy of the bloodstock world and with the sport being more accessible than ever and the ownership base growing and growing, we wanted to create further incentives for people to participate.

“There has been a significant growth in the volume of female racehorse ownership – 12 of the runners in the Millennium in 2021 had female owners – and we feel that this bonus series has the capacity not just to further reward those existing owners but stimulate greater involvement.

“With the Pink Bonus Series, the first registered horse to finish, no matter where it finishes, in each of the Millennium, Sprint, Banner or Nursery, will each win a massive bonus.”
