English has been given a strong hit-out to win a barrier trial from Redzel and Spieth at Randwick with all three headed to the Doomben 10,000.

James Macdonald brought English from back in the field in Tuesday’s 1050m-heat on a heavy track and she overhauled Redzel who was not pushed to the line by Kerrin McEvoy.

Redzel will be defending the Group One Doomben 10,000 (1350m) in Brisbane on Saturday week.
