Race 1

5 – 4 – 1 – 3

The favourite Munich is obviously hard to beat but seems unders around the even money mark. No doubt he is dropping in grade and he looks to get a nice run but he has to produce on race day. I am leaning to God Of Thunder and HOME SOIL who clashed in a recent Rosehill barrier trial behind Yulong Saturn. God Of Thunder was under a hold and looked to have plenty in reserve and looks a nice type. I was also taken with Home Soil who Kerrin McEvoy tried to hide away back in behind while also teaching him to race between horses. I reckon he is the overs in the race at double figures.

 

 

Race 2

2 –1 – 10 – 9

Tricky race but I ended up going with the race experience and have put VOILA on top that debuted a fortnight ago and was solid in finishing second over 1200m. I just think she was a little soft on debut at the six furlongs and from an ideal gate here and back to 1100m she should be right around the mark. Aperitif lead in that race and finished eighth well beaten but it was only the last 100m when her condition gave her that the others got the better of her. From a good barrier she is sure to be in the firing line. Tell Me has only raced once and was solid when closing from the back to be beaten just on two lengths in the Lonhro Plate behind some quality opposition.

 

 

Race 3

10 – 6 – 9 – 12

NOBLE CREED is two from two and I think she will maintain her unbeaten run and prove she is well and truly above average and will figure in a carnival not too far away. She has drawn a little awkward but she looks a nice strong individual that seems to be able to handle some work and all she needs is a fair run and she will be in the spoils. Poetic Charmer finished third to Noble Creed last start when having every chance but he gets the blinkers on and meets her 3kg better off at the weights and on top of those two things he has drawn perfect here. Dawn Dawn did the job in good style winning here three weeks back and although I think there is more depth here she is an improver and is still on the rise.

 

 

Race 4

10 – 3 – 4 – 2

Taikomochi is fourth up and steps to a journey he is now ready for and as he looks the likely leader is sure to prove hard to run down. TUNERO is a promising horse and nothing really went right last start as he was strung up when he should have been getting wound up. He is only a 3yo but looks destined for better grade racing and the extra distance here looks ideal. The six and half kilo pull in the weights off Taikomochi swayed me his way. Balmain Boy will likely find the stalking roll and he isn’t to be underestimated coming off a win last time out.

 

 

Race 5

10 – 5 – 1 – 6

REGINE did enough first up when beaten less than two lengths to suggest she will be ready to fire second up where she is two from two. With the likely speed drawn outside her it should enable Regine to settle right on the back of them and utilise her turn of foot which she will have with the step up to 1550m. Waller looks to have the three main dangers in my eyes with the toppy Jaunty who is dropping in grade, Diapason who comes up from Melbourne with solid form and Walk The Streets who is first up off the back of a very good barrier trial under her belt.

 

 

Race 6

4 –1 1 – 7 – 5

GRESHAM did a super job first up following a seven week break when working throughout the run and was only collared late by Balmain Boy and Nicochet. The worrying concern is that he has only won once in his ten starts with a further 5 seconds and two thirds so the tag on a non-winner isn’t that far off. I am banking on a repeat of last start and I think that will be good enough. Moondancer looks to have settled into Australia better this preparation winning first up in a tough effort at Newcastle. He responded when asked and kept finding all the way to the line. This is a step up but he looks ready for that step now. Waller trains them both plus he has another trio of winning chances with Jolly Honour, Revolver and Cedarwood while the Kim Waugh stable will saddle up last start winner King Hewitt.

 

 

Race 7

3 – 7 – 1 – 2

Looks a tricky speed map with several runners that look like they will kick up and hold their spots but there isn’t a real out and out leader. I have finished with ALL FROM SCRAP on top who from gate three and being nice and fresh coming off a 7 ½ week break should be handy enough to the speed. Tenorino will need luck from the awkward gate but I was taken with his latest run behind Schubert at Warwick Farm. The Avenger goes well at this trip and comes here after a three month spell and from gate one is sure to get a nice run. He will just need a touch of luck to be able to wind up when the pressure goes on. Shock Alert, Pianissimo, Rockafella and Dylan’s Dynasty look the other chances in what looks an open race.
