Ryan Hill to part ways with London’s Image at Inglis Chairman’s Sale

It’s a tough decision, but Ryan Hill has opted to sell London’s Image at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in Sydney, prioritising business over heart.

Hill sought advice from Neville Parnham before making the choice, knowing it would help build his operation going forward. “It’s definitely a business decision,” Hill said. “My heart tells me to keep her, she’s given us great thrills, no doubt about that.”

London’s Image, a daughter of Headwater, raced 17 times under Hill’s care, securing five wins, four seconds, and two thirds, accumulating nearly half a million dollars in prizemoney. Her big wins included the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) and the Breeders’ Classic (1200m) in Bunbury.

Hill still fondly remembers the mare’s memorable performances, especially the win in the Burgess Queen. “The Burgess Queen will never be topped for me,” he said.

London’s Image will be among 96 lots at the sale, alongside stars like Bella Nipotina and Amelia’s Jewel. Amelia’s Jewel, a 10-time stakes winner, earned $4 million and will also be offered through Segenhoe Stud after an illustrious racing career. “There will be mixed emotions,” owner Peter Walsh said, acknowledging her impact on Perth racing.
