Race 1
3 PRIMAL TOUCH looks to be working up to a maiden win this preparation. It’s not a race with depth, and although he is a 16 start maiden, he looks to have a winnable race. 1 I’m ANTMAN is the hardest to beat, he is lightly raced and has improved every time he has stepped out. He gives 3 Primal Touch 4.5kg here, which could be the difference.

2 FANX was a nice debut second behind the above average Mighty Mittere last start, who has since ran a 1.6L 6th in Saturday grade. FANX led and got ran down late that day, and with race experience will take good benefit and is hardest to beat. 7 SNOW SPARKLE is short enough in the betting, for what she has done so far. Importantly though, she resumes here for Toby Edmonds, who has a seriously good record with these Segenhoe owned, former NSW trained gallopers.

Race 3
Tough race this one, with a number of winning chances. The only horse I’m interested in here from a punting perspective is 6 BAUHINIA SID, resuming here for new trainer Daryl Hansen. The stable is deadly when the money goes on, so watch the betting moves. Hardest to beat could be 7 PASSION TO WIN, as I expect Tegan to send her to the front and roll along.

1 SENTIMENTAL PRINCE is a horse with above average ability, and if he puts it all together will win. He can over race at times, which can cost him. All being equal he looks the winner here. 3 TONI MAY & 4 DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE can fill the minors.

Race 5
Opening leg of the QD, with only 2 winning hopes being 1 DEER MOUNTAIN & 2 ISLA TRISTINA. I think 2 ISLA TRISTINA is a better horse than the favorite 1 Deer Mountain. They will settle close together in the small field, and I think 2 ISLA TRISTINA has a better turn of foot and can get home over the top of them here.

Race 6
A race where I thought the Gollan pair 1 BOOM BOY and 8 SPLITTER took up too much of the market, and I’m looking outside of that pair. 3 JOEL was ok in winning a trial back in September; he was ridden out and ran quicker time than the open trial that day. He gets winkers and tongue here, so seems to be some intent to run well today. As the great man Billy Joel said, “You may be right, I may be crazy”, but I’ happy to be on him EW here at the price.

5 BEAU ISA resumed a dominant winner, albeit in weaker grade, when demolishing his rivals. He will settle just off the leaders, and while very short in early markets, is hardest to beat. If they go quick here, 8 I AM THE WARRIOR is the one that can fly late from the back. He gets too far back in his races to bet with any confidence, but he is a massive price in a 7 horse field, and I could entertain something EW on him at the price.

Speed map critical here, with the first few hundred meters important. I thought if 11 MISHANI SEEKA can cross 1 MR HENNESSY, they run the quinella. If 1 MR HENNESSY boots up and hold the fence, the tempo will be hot, which brings in horses like 6 THE AMBASSADORE as the top hope. I think 11 MISHANI SEEKA can cross and be hard to run down. She was impressive winning with plenty in hand, and can go right on with it here. Numbers 1 & 6 look the obvious dangers.
