 Race 1

The 2YO’s over a mile to kick off the card, a race set up that I won’t be playing heavily into. The favorite 4 SNAPCHAT GIRL is coming off 2 wins against the older horses, and they were both impressive enough to have her on top here. 2 GUISSOLA sat 3 deep to the 600m, and then was pushed wider on the turn, before sticking on well last start in listed company running third. 12 TERRORFILO is a horse at big odds that interests me. She has made ground from the back in all 3 runs and looks as if the mile be very suitable.  The step up in trip here looks like it will suit her more than a lot of the others, and for that, I can entertain something small at the big price.

Race 2

The weekly staying event and this is no easy race to dissect! 1 LOVING HOME raced strongly on the bit last time in a fast run race, and was found wanting late. He was a few weeks between runs with a tri lane between, and will potentially take fitness benefit. He gets a much better run from a lower draw here and will prove hardest to beat.  3 I FEEL GOOD comes out of the same race, and was held up to the turn and lost momentum, then picked up again in the straight again to run second. Has an inside draw here and will need to be out and rolling before the turn this time, can win with luck.  6 BRILLIANT JET prefers good ground and gets it here, will race well. 7 CHOYSA could well be the blow out chance with any luck from a wide gate.

Race 3

5 TIMPERLEY put up an impressive performance winning first up. While it may have been a Rockhampton maiden, his last 600m sectional was the best of the entire meeting.  He maps to get a nice run and inform hoop Brad Stewart stays on.  He looks an excellent Each Way play.  A number resuming and or having their first race start, the market should be a guide.

Race 4

Should be enough speed early to ensure 7 KHALAMA can obtain a nice run in transit and produce his strong late sprint to over haul them here. 3 DEANRIUS has trialed up nicely and you can expect him to run a good race first up off those trials.  8 TYCOON ACE should be able to use his early speed to find a nice run and can place.

Race 5

1 BACKSLAPPER looks better suited back to the 1200m and the scratching of Sone One now has him on tops of  8 PINCH MOUNTAIN ran down BACKSLAPPER 2 starts back, before running into the NQ Horse of the moment Conca Del Sogno. 12 MAGIC DIAMOND and 7 MALVERN ESTATE to fill the placings.

Race 6

Hoping that 2 FLAMBOYER can cross and lead without 6 PRIMAL FLIGHT desperate to hold it out. If the race pans out that way, I think they run 1-2 in that order.  I feel FLAMBOYER can sit outside and beat PRIMAL FLIGHT home, but if they go hard, you can expect 5 SONY LEGEND to be the one charging over the top. Plenty of hopes in an open race if the speed goes on early, but my money is on 2 FLAMBOYER leading and winning.

Race 7

Speed map looks like 2 SHEISWHATSHEIS leading with 5 CRUISING SPEED on her back.  Those 2 can get the race ran to suit and be in the finish.  The favorite 3 CRACK ME UP trounced his own age in the Sunshine Coast Guineas, proving his run the start before behind RELIGIFY was no fluke.  I think he can win again here. 9 MADAME DE BAN onto a dry track could be the improver.

Race 8

1 MARKSFIELD comes into this race in almost career best form.  He won a NO METRO WIN race here last preparation over this trip, and I think he is going as well now, as he ever has. Yes, he has to carry the top weight, but he is very honest, draws well and should put himself in the top 3-4 in running and be hard to get past.  6 YABL DABL DOYER has been consistent of late, no luck last time and with luck here can figure in the money. 2 CORNROW is consistent and gets an in form jockey aboard.  While 9 JACKPOT will likely bowl along in front and give a sight.

Race 9

Have to wait until the lucky last for our BEST WIN bet, in the shape of 4 CARE TO THINK.  I’m confident he can turn the tables on 2 PRIORITISE.  4 CARE TO THINK wants the 1350m, made evident by his run 2 back when just nabbed on the line by SNEAKY GLANCE in the Grafton Guineas Prelude, who went onto win the Guineas.  That is the right form line to have him winning this. The barrier will also be a big advantage drawn in gate 3, while PRIOTISE has to handle the 16 gate.  The added plus is the weight swing is in favor of CARE TO THINK.  Take nothing away from 2 PRIORITISE the last start win, it was very good, I just think he has a little too much against here.  A host of chances for third, but all eyes on the best of the day 4 CARE TO THINK
