1 BLACKBERRY was good in all 3 runs at her first prep, and arguably shouldn’t be a maiden. Her best will hard to beat here if she’s ready to go first up. She ran a cracker first up last time, so happy to be with her here.

6 SCALLOPINI & 9 THE HUSSLER both get important gear changes today that can see them perform to their best. 9 THE HUSSLER gets blinkers first time, which should sharpen him up and allow him to settle closer today. 6 SCALLOPINI was good first up, and with natural improvement and tongue tie on, I think he is the horse to beat.

A couple of classy customers here in the form of 1 RHYMING & 2 MISS KINDILAN to do battle. .1 RHYMING has the fitness benefit of having a run under her belt this prep, when finishing 12 of 14 in the listed UBET CLASSIC last time. This is a drop in grade and with her fitness edge, her class can prevail.  2 MISS KINDILAN doesn’t have a great first up record but has performed well at stakes level and will run well here.

6 SPURCRAFT was an impressive winner first up Toowoomba, when smashing his rivals. While the horses he beat where mediocre, the time was good and with race experience can go on and win again here.

8 SIR BARNABUS was a good effort first up, and a forgive run second up. The step to 1300m here is ideal, just the gate that’s the slight concern. I’m anticipating he will settle rearward any way, as long as the tempo is genuine, he can be rattling home late and looks a great each way hope.  Hardest to beat is 9 SMARTY JACK, who should race on speed and give a sight.

A very competitive race here, 1 CONNIVING bringing strong form lines through its last start. While he was beaten a fair way, he was tardy away and took no part. He can be ridden forward here and is the horse to beat.

7 MAZAZ put up a nice effort first up in QLD, and looks ready to produce a winning run here second up. Hardest to beat is 1 GEOMERTRIST, who’s in good form and goes well here.

3 DON’T TELL MAMA has an interrupted prep missing a run when Doomben was washed out, and now is looking for the 1400m third up. Blinkers go on here, and she looks ready to return to the winners stall. Hardest to beat is 5 BOURBON ROAD  .
