Race 1
Looks a 2 horse race here between 4 EVOLO & 9 PROTEST. 4 EVOLO was slowly last start, before making good ground to finish 4th. The speed was good in that race, so he was entitled to make ground. The step up to 2200m 4th start in a race is a slight query but looks hard to beat. 9 PROTEST was a little plain to my eye late last start, I thought she was entitled to be a bit better in her last 200m. She also gets here 4th up and should be a peak fitness now. Hard to split them, leaning toward 4 EVOLO.

Race 2
4 CABEIRRO improved at her 2nd run in QLD, racing closer to the speed and recording a good win. She left PROTEST in her wake last start, who’s engaged in Race 1, and could be a guide. 1 RED PHANTOM is a big strong long striding galloper, who should position near the speed and looks hard to beat. 3 SURPRISE BULLET and 7 DELANEYS DESIRE can fight out the minor money.

Race 3
3 MEANER can land closer to the lead than his rivals here and looks hard to beat. He was good first up, and a repeat of that will have him going close. 1 BACHELORS ART regular racing pattern is to get back and run on, which is some concern. If D Browne can position a bit closer from the good gate, he will be storming home late and be in the finish. 9 OUR MOMENTO was good first up, fitter here and can figure.

Race 4
9 LIPSYNC looks well placed here, and over the odds. She has been close enough, without winning in harder grade than this. Two starts back, she finished stakes winner IN HIS STRIDE, before getting too far back at Toowoomba before flying home late. From gate 2 here, she should settle closer and be in the finish.

Race 5
Expecting 4 I AM IMPINGE to roll straight to the lead here and be hardest to beat. His form around PIERATA is good and look the one. 3 JETSONIC has a horrible racing pattern, continually getting back and running on. One day everything will pan out for him and he will win, but I can’t back him. 8 CHAPPO gets a nice run in transit and is a winning chance. He should find the first, and either lead if something goes wrong with I AM PINGE at the start or sit on his back. He looks a nice horse and will only be fitter here second up. Looks a safe EW play.

Race 6
Really good Class 3 1600m here, with a number of horses coming through the grades doing battle. 5 KAY KAY BOY is unbeaten in 2 Australian runs, and has impressed each time. He’s a strong European stayer, so getting to 1600m looks ideal for him here. He will either lead or be outside the speed and look hardest to beat. 14 TIME LORD is NZ 3year old coming off some good runs in NZ premier 3 year old races. He will likely get back a touch from the wide gate, but expect him to be working home hard. 6 EXPERTEA and 2 LE MATTAN are both capable but may have just run into a couple of better ones on the way up.

Race 7
10 WEONA NICCONI was a good debut winner, scoring in a Class1 at his first race start. He steps again here, against horse who have won multiple races, but looks a nice horse on the way through his grades, and the one to beat. Liked the run of 8 SUPER SHOES, and think he’s’ come back well, with 2 good runs this time in. 1 RAISE AN ARMY was good last start, just think he is horribly weighted for a horse that’s 1 from 17.

Race 8
I think the favorite 5 HI LIZZY is the best horse in the race but has drawn poorly in gate 16. She will go back from the wide gate, and track into the race with cover. If the track is playing fair, she is good enough home get over the top of them late. 4 DVINA was weighed down with 61kg first up but didn’t finish all that far away. Drops 6kg here, can settle close to the speed and dash to the front at the 250m and be hard to run down. She looks a better bet than the favorite at the prices. 10 PERSONALISED is another who looks suited here, was good last time and will be in the finish.
