Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign has defied an on-speed bias and a field of hardened sprinters to make a triumphant return in the Group One Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Kerrin McEvoy admitted he was worried halfway through Friday night’s 1000m-race but when she straightened up the filly surged to the line to beat Viddora in a tight finish.

The Gary Portelli-trained She Will Reign is headed to the $10 million Everest at Randwick next month.

“I told the owners its A-grade tonight let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

“They didn’t listen and they expected her to win and she hasn’t let them down, she is truly amazing” winning trainer Portelli said following the barnstorming victory.
