Trainer John Thompson is hoping With Your Blessing can kick off his spring in style when he resumes in the Schweppes Sprint (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

The six-year-old was last seen producing a career-best performance in the Group 2 Liverpool City Cup (1300m), narrowly beaten at the finish.

Thompson says a strong first-up showing could set up a tilt at the Missile Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on August 9.

“If he won on Saturday we’d look at that,” Thompson said.

“He has come back really well and he has been trialling super.”

With Your Blessing has won two of his three lead-up trials and will jump from gate seven with Alysha Collett aboard.

He boasts three wins from eight first-up outings and is proven on all surfaces.

“He goes well fresh. Wet or dry, he handles it,” Thompson said.

Saturday’s sprint features Corniche, Brudenell and Storm The Ramparts.

Meanwhile, the Listed Winter Challenge (1500m) has drawn 12 runners, including Robusto, Accredited and last-start surprise winner Estadio Mestalla.
