ASSIMILATE is the one coming back in grade having raced against group one winner Kementari at his two previous starts in the Eskimo Prince and Hobartville stakes and it’s just whether a few midfield efforts are better than some good wins in weaker grades. The Snowden’s have thrown the blinkers on to sharpen him up for today’s assignment. I think it’s a simple equation in that if he gets the breaks from the wide barrier he will be too good. His biggest threat is Albumin who arrives here having raced well last start in the group 3 Zeditave Stakes at Caulfield.
RACE 7 NO.11 QAFILA danger 3 Encryption
I am really keen to bet here thinking QAFILA is very very hard to beat and the only danger is the Godolphin youngster Encryption with both coming through the group 1 Blue Diamond. Qafila finished seventh beaten over five lengths but the run was full of merit coming from well back with traffic problems. Today’s race with only eight runners should see her get her chance to wind up and be strong late. Encryption finished just in front of her in the Blue Diamond and has drawn better today so must be seen as a major threat.
RACE 8 NO.4 CONQUEST
CONQUEST resumes here having had the ultimate gear change, the gelding operation and to add the double dose the blinkers are going back on. His latest trial was very good winning as he liked albeit on a heavy track and he is out of a Secret Savings mare that are tagged as swimmers. I think if the money comes from him he will be getting the cash.
