Race 1

3 – 2 – 4 – 1

MOSS TRIP created a big impression winning first up at Kembla before running well at Rosehill behind O’Rachael. She looks to have this race at her mercy with the concerns being the step up to 1550m and if it becomes a tricky run race with only three opponents but all being square she looks very hard to beat. Jolly Honour is second pick and he will have no issues with the distance. From a good gate he will tag the likely leader Rockin’ Ruga and get his chance.

Race 2

6 – 3 – 2 – 8

Very tricky race with anything capable of winning with the right run. I have settled on LONGMU who has probably been a little disappointing thus far in her career but I have liked her two trials this around and from a good gate should enjoy a good run. Hemingways was solid enough on debut at Wyong and with that race experience should play a role here especially if she is able to find the top. Southern Lad looks more rounded as a racehorse at his second campaign with a couple of nice hit outs. He will appreciate further but he can be expected to be hitting the line solidly. Venture Capital hasn’t been far away and from gate one here can run into the spoils.

Race 3

2 – 1 – 7 – 4

CAMPAIGN returned this preparation in good order winning two on the trot before running second here last start over tonight’s journey 1900m. Waller has given him three weeks to get over that effort and from a good gate and with that run at the trip under his belt I expect he will be ready run the 1900m right out. Nathula comes here off a good win at Kembla against older horses and although by Sepoy he looks as though he will enjoy the extra distance. Follow On is one from one and is sure to give them something to chase tonight.

Race 4

4 – 6 – 2 – 7

Gee it looks as though AQUATIC has this race at his mercy but when you are diving in to take short odds you have to work through the things against you. He has only won one from 21 starts and that over 1200m, he has raced at Canterbury six times for one minor placing and he is stepping a distance he has raced over before but gee he looks too good. Originally I was keen to unload but I am cautious but that said he is clear top pick. That makes sense? Let me know how it does. Sculptures was very good here three weeks ago and isn’t without a chance of upsetting the hot pot.

Race 5

6 – 1 – 3 – 2

DOMED has turned in two very good runs this campaign and should be hitting her peak now third up. She has a turn of speed which is a huge advantage over many of her rivals and as long as she gets the opportunity to find the line she will be hard to hold out. Hurricane Harbour is the one that will tough out the 1900m as he is dropping back from a very good run for third behind Beijing Board at Warwick Farm over 2200m. Balmain Boy ran second here over tonight’s distance and he only needs to repeat that to be amongst the major spoils.

Race 6

3 – 6 – 4 – 2

LEVEL EIGHT has been racing in good form this preparation without winning albeit he has gone very close and from a perfect barrier tonight he should be able to stalk the likely leader in Nat King Cu. Pianissimo was good here two runs back over this distance before he dropped back in trip and ran solidly and now that he steps back up he will be ready to rock ‘n’ roll. Multifacets comes off a very good effort first up and he is a winner two from four second up and if there is a solid enough tempo he will be coming hard late. Nat King Cu is flying and will again give a sight from the front.

Race 7

8 – 1 – 5 – 6

Very keen again on SOOTHING even though we left our money in the can last time when she was heavily backed here. From a good gate as well as three kilos less on her back but with the rail back in the true and a solid tempo I am hoping she can charge over them. The biggest plus is though the three week freshen up as I think she reacts by being that bit fresh. Rose Of Man is low flying and will in the fight for a long way albeit I think she is far better at 1000m. Hard to knock Geneteau who has been racing in good form and looks to get a nice run somewhere on the speed.

Race 8

10 – 11 – 9 – 4

REWARD FOR FASHION has been racing in terrific form of late with his runs being spaced and he turns up here off a four week freshen up. If can find the front here I expect him to be very hard to gun down. Renewal did a good job winning on debut at Newcastle before a solid run against some handy credentialed opposition here back in October. His recent trial was very good so a forward showing is expected. Leami Stray hasn’t won past 1000m but should get a perfect run here and could easily give a sight. Our Mantra is first up and get the blinkers so he will be the one finishing hard.
