BEST BETS

RACE 3                        NO.7                GLEN ORD

These staying races always seem to have a different winner so you deserve some value when you find the winner. I have priced nine of the 11 runners but the one I have clear is the Beaudesert 6yo gelding GLEN ORD who comes back here after a very good effort at Grafton during its carnival. His run after getting back and covering ground to get beaten just on two lengths was very good. He looks to map well here with a nice fair tempo and with mark Du Plessis now having had a ride on him the pair may just get the chocolates. If he doesn’t win I don’t really care but good luck I hope you find the winner.

RACE 5                        NO.1                SABKHAT

SABKHAT was awesome last Saturday when working to find the lead over 1350m and then kept running and never looked like getting beaten. He steps up to 1630m which won’t pose any problems for him and although he is going up 5kg he looks to find the front solo and will be hard to get past. My biggest concern is did last week’s run take too much gas out of him but obviously I am hoping not. The favourite No Annamossity is the obvious danger and will pounce if Sabkhat doesn’t show up.

RACE 9                        NO.14              SHOGUN SUN

SHOGUN SON can bounce back here having failed at his latest run three weeks ago at the Sunshine Coast which came off the back of a dominant win at the same track two weeks prior. He had no luck last start but he looked to race a little flat so the three weeks between runs coming here looks ideal. He has drawn perfectly and with a five kilos drop in the weight he should be able to stalk the leaders and use his turn of speed. This race has a long tail with only last start winner Natch and the Waller runner Fortensky looking possible dangers.
