Emirates day @ Flemington- tips & best

FLEMINGTON  STAKES DAY

Saturday November 11

Track: Good 3                Rail: +3M

BEST BET:              GALLIC CHIEFTAIN (Race 5 #6)

BEST VALUE:         ONCIDIUM RULER (Race 2 # 3)

Race 1:     6-7-1-11

The money points to $1m yearling KING here off the back of impressive Sydney trial. Always wary backing a debutant against raced but no stand-out amongst them, labelling BIONICS (Setsuna form) the best of those). NORTHERN VOYAGE debuts in the white hot combo Waterhouse/Bott and Baster and has firmed at odds. FINAL CHOICE is bred to be quick and has shown ability in public appearances.

SUGGESTED: Following the money for KING.

Race 2:     3-2-5-8

What an underwhelming race but a chance for value. ONCIDIUM RULER has poor fresh form and maintained that at Caulfield (Odeon stacks up form) but excellent 2nd up form and now to 2000m gets good chance at the odds to play. TARQUIN hasn’t won in three preparations but Moe Cup run with 5.5kg less was good enough for this. John Hickmott always finds a competitive horse for Cup week and is respected with HAVE PLENTY, unlucky past two. MEET AND GREET will find this easier (winkers added).

SUGEGSTED: Gambling ONCIDIUM RULER.

Race 3:     1-2-3-4

Blinkers go onto FASTNET TEMPEST who was green but good in Sale Cup. Certainly looks the one to beat here. MAN OF HIS WORD had no luck Randwick back to 1400m last time. RAW IMPULSE had his chance at Sale and doubt beats toppie home. JACQUINOT BAY looks to be well placed to find another win.

SUGGESTED: Looks FASTNET TEMPEST.

Race 4:     7-2-9-6

Punters early have nailed former WA black type performer LITE’N IN MY EYES and rightly so of hot form race Caulfield won by RICH CHARM (since won). LORD ASPEN won this same race last year with 3.5kg less and looked good hitting line last time in Adelaide. An obvious target race.  SADAQA is the value runner on home track third run in and absolutely ready for 1400m.

SUGGESTED: Back LITE’N IN MY EYES but have a little saver SADAQA.

Race 5:     6-1-3-4

Don’t see Weir change gear much but note the blinkers on GALLIC CHIEFTAIN after excellent runs Herbert Power and Geelong Cup (VENGER MASQUE). Meets it 1.5kg better but of course Vengeur Masque was just nutted in Lexus since so form strong. Obviously QEWY is fairly fresh and impressive legs for this off Bendigo Cup win over KIWIA to round out chances.

SUGGESTED: Keen on GALLIC CHIEFTAIN.

Race 6:     6-2-1-9

Even contest but FALIKA keeps winning and improving.  Terrific in strong race Caulfield then nailed TOKEN OF LOVE at the Valley and meets it 1.5kg for doing so. PROMPT RESPONSE was super in Myer from bad alley. Very much a player here. HEAVENS ABOVE has lacked wins this campaign but well graded here on best G1 winning form.

SUGGESTED: Sticking with the winners – FALKIA but it’s a wide quaddie leg (see below)

Race 7:     1-2-3-13

Obviously outstanding race. Not ignoring the hot run and out of trouble pattern of REDZDEL – almost a foolproof bet but keen to latch onto CHATAUQUA here who may never look the winner until the post. Alley ideal if not squashed out of it.  VEGA MAGIC has not had a thing go right past two and an obvious key winning chance. Best value MISSROCK who was fantastic last Saturday. But obviously MALAGUERRA (4 from 6 Flem), REDKIRK WARRIOR (2 from 2 Flem straight 1200m) chances as are MAN FROM UNCLE (Blinkers) and IN HER TIME (just missed Manikato).

SUGGESTED: Gambling at odds and luck CHAUTAUQUA.

Race 8:     3-7-10-4

Cox Plate has been the best form for this repositioned race so happy to go last year’s winner GAILO CHOP off similar run behind Winx. Beat Cup runner-up G1 2000m WFA prior to that. Will do me. FOLKSWOOD finished in front of it in Cox Plate and good Cranbourne. Sure to be competitive off those Aussie runs. GINGERNUTS looks to have come up well in New Zealand (softer tracks). No spoil this gate and not convinced yet. TOSEN STARDOM was ok last Saturday in the G1 Mile and backs up quickly to 2000m to get good run.

SUGGESTED: GAILO CHOP to go back to back.

Race 9:     5-4-3-2

Tipping one off a Mdn into Bm64 but have loved the tenacity of TAMASA doing so over a G1 performer in ANDAZ who was ok from back behind Merchant Navy last week in the Coolmore.  TREKKING is learning in Melbourne and ready for one more I think.

SUGGESTED: Follow-up TAMASA

QUADDIE:

1st leg:     1-2-4-5-7-9-10

2nd leg:    1-2-3-13

3rd leg:      3-7

4th leg:       3-4-5

                  $84 for 50%
