RACE 8 NO.12 UNFORGOTTEN
We know Chris Waller trains the mighty mare WINX but I am banking on him coming down here and taking away a couple of group ones starting with UNFORGOTTEN in the Caulfield Stakes. I think the Epsom form up in Sydney is the right form and going through the field in this group one I think Waller’s pair of Unforgotten and D’Argento have the best turn of speed therefore being the best suited. Unforgotten will thrive stepping to 2000m and I think Michael Walker will have her a lot closer than where McEvoy got to in the Epsom handicap. She actually meets D’Argento a kilo better at the weights and I thought her run was the better last start.
RACE 9 NO.1 THE AUTUMN SUN
We hate saying it but I hate losing money therefore I think the Sydney 3yo THE AUTUMN SUN is a grade above ours and that should mean he will win the group one Caulfield Guineas. James McDonald takes the reins which is ideal and following his barnstorming win three weeks ago in the group one Golden Rose over 1400m the extra furlong here is perfect. He is already a dual group one winner and if it wasn’t for a badly judged ride two ago he would be five start five wins. I think although he won’t run The Autumn Sun would be the only danger to WINX in the Cox Plate in a fortnight. That’s how good I think this son of Redoute’s Choice is.
