Race 1

1 – 3 – 7 – 2

It’s like an ideal race for SHE KNOWS coming here off a six week freshen up since running fifth beaten less than three lengths down the Flemington straight. She should be able to roll forward and settle handy and be hard to toss. Don’t Doubt Her is better over slightly further but look for her to be charging hard late with a four kilo pull in the weights over She Knows. Our Rosemaree made up a stack of ground here three weeks ago against some hardened sprinters so she must be respected from a soft draw.

Race 2

3 – 1 – 2 – 4

There doesn’t look much between the top three here but I have settled on ORCEIN who is resuming here following a four month break and is putting a Queensland trip on the line. He has trialled twice and looked a more mature racehorse this time around so I am expecting him to be hard to hold out. Stunts has been right around the mark in his short career and after a strong win at Wyong raced without luck in the group 3 Kindergarten Stakes. Graff debuted with a professional win at Rosehill four weeks ago and judging by a recent barrier trial he has gone on so he must be kept safe.

Race 3

4 – 2 – 3 – 8

Looks a tricky race but I have I have settled on PHILOSOPHY who was passable first up at Warwick Farm and now gets the blinkers added to his gear to hopefully sharpen him up. Stonebrook comes off a month’s freshen and from a good draw is likely to lead and be hard to get past. Dagny and Siren’s Fury will be coming at them hard in the home straight while Missile Coda looks to get a nice sit on Stonebrook so don’t dismiss lightly.

Race 4

1 – 8 – 6 – 12

Keen on UP ‘N’ ROLLING who gets the blinkers off so that should hopefully enable him to relax just off a few leaders and then be too good in the run home. Even with 59.5kg he looks well place against this bunch. Hunter jack is the other that interests me turning up here after a three month break and a very nice barrier trial.

Race 5

9 – 4 – 7 – 3

I am going all in on TANGO RAIN who returns here following a five month break and two very good trials but more importantly as a gelding. With only 53kg on his back I am thinking he will go bang and be too brilliant for his opposition. Glenall returns from Melbourne and the Hawkes stable have added the blinkers to sharpen him up. Passage Of Time will be coming hard late but just at 1100m I am hoping Tango Rain is too fast but he must be respected. Le Cordon Bleu is one who will be flying at them late.

Race 6

10 – 4 – 9 – 6

Open race but I think SEDANZER deserves to pick herself as the top pick off good consistent form previously and a very nice barrier trial three weeks ago at Randwick. She went all the way up to 2200m last preparation but I think she is best around the mile and handy milers often run well fresh. If she can bounce and settle handy she is the one to beat. White Moss is flying and was terrific first up when chasing the flying Quilista all the way down the straight at Randwick. She will settle handy and be amongst the spoils. Invincibella comes through the same race and she never stopped trying even though Quilista was off and gone. The chances don’t finish there as my Quadrella reflects so go wide or go one out with Sedanzer.

Race 7

3 – 2 – 6 – 5

DUCA VALENTINOIS went back to the trials to maintain fitness following a good effort four weeks ago in the Doncaster Prelude behind Cellarman when forced to settle a mile back from a wide barrier. He has had three runs back from a spell so he should be just about spot on fitness wise and from a soft draw he should be coming hard in the run home. The hardest for him to beat will be Ecuador who ran second in the Doncaster prelude and is now second up here. He has been second up on eight occasions in his career recording three wins and a narrow defeat. Mister Sea Wolf was third in the Doncaster Prelude before settling a mile back in the Doncaster and never getting into the race.

Race 8

4 – 3 – 2 – 12

Victorem was awesome in doing us a favour when winning the Country Championship and he looks ready to take the step to some better quality races but gee he is rock bottom odds here especially having drawn the outside gate. He will be hard to beat no doubt but I have settled on SAMBRO who I think will appreciate the drop back to 1400m and I think easier race than the group 3 Carbine Club Stakes. If he can get near his effort when second to Levendi last spring in the Carbine Club Stakes he will be in the money here. Beau Geste comes through the same race as Sambro and looks well placed here.

Race 9

3 – 4 – 1 – 10

ROMAN SON has come back from a spell and a new lease on life and is being prepared by Richard Freedman. He charged home over 1400m to just miss before a dominant win at Rosehill when stepping up to 1800m. The extra distance looks ideal and with even luck he should send the punters home with some cash. Chris Waller seems to have the main dangers if there are any in Naval Warfare, Multifacets, Mazaz and Mornington.
