La Pietra is yet to record a maiden race win, but she finds herself in a very winnable contest at Ballarat this afternoon.
She has generally raced in tougher company than this contest and hasn’t had a huge amount of luck during her career to date.
Barrier seven is ideal and she should have every possible chance with Dean Yendall in the saddle.

No. 3 Corner Pocket – Bet Now: $2.60
Corner Pocket made his racing debut with a strong effort at Ballarat in June and the form coming out of that race has been very strong.
A repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat and he looks to have a turn-of-foot that can’t be matched by any other galloper in this contest.
Newcastle – Race 7 4:30PM AEST
No. 1 Hughes The Boss – Bet Now: $7.00
Hughes The Boss will need some luck in running from the wide barrier draw, but he still represents genuine value at his current odds of $8.
He finished second behind Emerald Crown at Ballarat last start and the form coming out of that race is strong.
Will Price will settle him towards the tail of the field, but he will be storming home late.

No. 12 Shilo Lass – Bet Now: $5.00
Shilo Lass is great value to make a winning return to the races at Ballarat this afternoon.
She has only recorded one win from her five race starts, but she has generally raced in stronger company than this.
Barrier four is ideal and she maps to get a lovely run in transit with Fred Kersley in the saddle.
