Sale – Race 6 3:20PM AEST
No. 7 Mainland – Bet Now: $3.50
Mainland has recorded two wins from his past three race starts and he has clearly gone to another level this campaign.
He showed plenty of toughness to win at Kyneton last start and I don’t think the step-up in trip will be an issue.
This is a step-up in class, but there is no reason that he can’t maintain his stellar form.
Sale – Race 7 3:55PM AEST
No. 4 Phaistos – Bet Now: $1.75
Phaistos is the class horse in the Ladbrokes Sale Cup field and he is deserving of his status as a dominant favourite.
His first-up effort when second behind Windstorm in the Weekend Hussler Stakes at Caulfield was outstanding and there is no horse of that quality in this field.
Sale – Race 8 4:35PM AEST
No. 5 Indernile – Bet Now: $6.00
Indernile doesn’t win out of turn, but he finds himself in a very winnable contest at Sale this afternoon.
There was plenty to like about his first-up run at The Valley and he has run well at Sale in the past.
He will get a long way back from the wide barrier draw, but he will be storming home late.
Sale – Race 9 5:15PM AEST
No. 4 Firstclass Dreamer – Bet Now: $11.00
Firstclass Dreamer is outstanding value at his current odds of $13.
He has been racing well in much stronger company than this and this is the weakest field that he has faced in some time.
There is no doubt that he will need a touch of luck in running from the wide barrier draw, but I am happy to gamble at the current price.
