No. 1 Bethencourt – Bet Now: $2.30
Bethencourt is a lightly-raced galloper that still has plenty of upside to improve.
He showed a nice turn-of-foot to win on debut and he had excuses when he finished second at Kembla Grange last start.
James McDonald will have issues from the wide barrier draw and there is no doubt that Bethencourt has more upside than any other runner in this field.
Wyong – Race 8 5:25PM AEST
No. 9 Long Weekend – Bet Now: $4.40
Long Weekend never gave his rivals a chance when he led from start to finish to win at Kembla Grange on debut and he should improve on that effort.
I don’t think that the step-up to 1100 metres will be a problem for him and there is not a huge amount of early speed in this contest.
Rachel King can take him straight to the front in the early stages of this race and will give his rivals something to chase.
Geelong – Race 7 4:30PM AEST
No. 5 Nuclear Cheval – Bet Now: $3.50
Nuclear Cheval has only recorded the one win from his eight race starts, but I am confident that he is a better horse than that record suggests.
He has won first-up in the past and his best form would be more than good enough to win this contest.
Barrier five is ideal and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Jordan Childs in the saddle.
Geelong – Race 8 5:00PM AEST
No. 3 Valley Of Hearts – Bet Now: $5.00
There have been plenty of scratchings in this contest and that has really opened this race right up.
Valley Of Hearts returned to the races with a credible effort first-up and he should be able to make good improvement on that performance.
Barrier six is ideal and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Campbell Rawiller in the saddle.
