Clever Appraoch has an outstanding chance to claim a maiden race win and I am surprised that he is not an odds-on favourite for this contest.

He has finished second in his two race starts this campaign and on exposed form he does have a genuine class edge over the rest of this field.

Barrier four is ideal and he will have every possible chance in the run.

Swan Hill – Race 6 4:00PM AEST

No. 8 Mr Raikkonen – Bet Now: $3.10

Mr Raikkonen, a son of star sprinter Miss Andretti, absolutely bolted in to win by almost five lengths at Wangaratta and he clearly has upside.

This is a genuine step-up in quality, but this still looks like shrewd placement from Lloyd Kennewell and he is a colt I expect to move through the grades.

He is deserving of his status as a clear favourite.

Swan Hill – Race 7 4:30PM AEST

No. 6 Yulong Storm – Bet Now: $2.25

Yulong Storm has recorded three wins on the trot and there is no reason that he can’t continue his winning ways.

The Scat Daddy gelding proved far too classy for his rivals at Swan Hill last start and I don’t think that this race is much tougher.

Craig Newitt will settle him in the second half of the field and he will be storming home late.

Swan Hill – Race 8 5:00PM AEST

No. 11. Lots Of Puddles – Bet Now: $9.00

Lots Of Puddles is over the odds in what is a fairly open race at Swan Hill this afternoon.

The Danerich mare isn’t the most consistent horse in the world, but she is capable of a high-rating performance on her day and there was plenty to like about her first-up effort.
