BEST BET: No. 3 Unshackled – Bet Now: $6.50
Unshackled doesn’t win out of turn, but he is a consistent performer that finds himself in a very winnable contest at Ballarat this afternoon.
He has gone close in tougher races than this one during his current racing campaign and if he does produce his best form he will prove tough to beat in this company.
Ballarat – Race 7 2:05PM AEST
No. 2 Perishing – Bet Now: $1.60
I think that this is a race in two between Appraise and Perishing and I would rather be on Perishing at the current price.
He led from start to finish to win at Bairnsdale a couple of starts ago and he finished second behind the talented Stand To Attention at Kilmore last start.
There is no horse of that quality in this field and Perishing has an excellent chance to return to winning form.
Ballarat – Race 8 4:00PM AEST
No. 3 Colliver – Bet Now: $3.50
Colliver will need some luck in running from the wide barrier draw, but he should still prove too strong for the rest of this field.
He has raced well over 1000 metres in the past and he does have the speed to cross this field in the early stages of this contest.
There is no doubt that he will give his rivals something to catch.
Ballarat – Race 9 4:30PM AEST
No. 6 Rebel Excell – Bet Now: $3.50
Rebel Excell was finally able to record a maiden race win last start and it would not surprise to see him string together a few wins.
I like the fact that he has been kept at 2100 metres and jockey Billy Egan is right up there with the most in-form jockeys in the country.
