I’m happy to take on the favourite at the top of the weights in the fourth event of the day on Darwin Cup Day.
Therefor, we are getting a nice price about Lady Satab who has put in two nice performances since returning from a spell.
It usually takes a few starts for her to start producing her best and she has a good record at the 1600m.
Darwin – Race 7 2:38PM AEST
No. 4 Spielberg – Bet Now: $2.90
Spielberg has managed four wins from 14 career race starts including his last two.
He returned from a spell with a narrow win over the 1200m at this track in a similar grade of race to this one and he has drawn well in barrier six.
He has raced well in Victoria before moving to the Angela Forster stable in Darwin and he can measure up to these again.
Darwin – Race 10 4:34PM AEST
BEST BET: No. 1 Captain Punch – Bet Now: $2.90
Captain Punch looks the obvious one in the Palmerston Sprint after beating a number of these horses first up over the 1000m at this track.
He has won 10 times from 13 starts at this track and I like the fact that he has also had two trials in between runs
He meets the majority of them at the same weight and with even luck from barrier 10, it will be the same result.
Darwin – Race 12 6:00PM AEST
No. 1 Ihtsahymn – Bet Now: $3.80
Ihtsahymn managed to string together three wins in a row last prep before finishing third at Listed level in the Kalgoorlie Cup to finish his campaign.
Two of those wins last prep came in Darwin including one over the 2000m carrying 60.5kg.
He was beaten by Savatoxl first up over the 1600m but meet that horse a kilo better at the weights and he has drawn perfectly in barrier two.
