Pakenham – Race 4 7:30PM  AEST

BEST BET: No. 5 Cogent – Bet Now: $4.00

Cogent relished the step-up in trip to finish second behind Milliondollarbill at Pakenham last start and a repeat of that effort will make him very tough to beat.

This is far from the strongest field and he really does look like the only galloper with any real upside.

I am surprised that there is $4.20 available and I expect him to start much shorter.

Pakenham – Race 5 8:00PM AEST

No. 2 Arctic Wolf – Bet Now: $3.80

I am happy to take on I Am Chickasaw at the current price and Arctic Wolf does look like the value runner in this field.

There was plenty of merit in his first-up win at Geelong and he lost no admirers with a tough effort at Ballarat last start.

This race is no tougher and he is well-placed to return to winning form.

Pakenham – Race 7 9:00PM AEST

No. 12 Judestar – Bet Now: $3.40

Judestar is a consistent performer that simply never produces a poor effort and there is no reason why she can’t be in the mix again.

She showed a lovely turn-of-foot to finish second at Ladbrokes Park Sandown last start and this race looks like a genuine drop in quality.

Daniel Stackhouse will settle her in the second half of the field from barrier 11, but she will be storming home late.

Pakenham – Race 8 9:30PM AEST

No. 6 Scream Dream – Bet Now: $3.70

Scream Dream is a lightly-raced galloper that still has plenty of upside.

She returned to the races with a promising fourth place finish at The Valley and she has form around some quality gallopers.

If she is able to improve on her first-up effort, she will prove very tough to beat.
