Pakenham – Race 3 7:00PM AEST
No. 2 Fighter – Bet Now: $1.80
Fighter has finished second on all four of his race starts to date and he may never have a better chance to record a maiden race win.
He has generally raced in stronger company than this and there was a fair bit to like about his last start effort at The Valley.
He is deserving of his status as a dominant favourite.
Pakenham – Race 4 7:30PM AEST
No. 2 Bellinger – Bet Now: $3.00
Bellinger showed a nice turn-of-foot to finish second at Pakenham first-up and he should take good improvement from that performance.
He ran some of the fastest closing sectionals of the meeting at Pakenham and the step-up to 1400 metres is ideal.
I am confident that he will end up in stronger company than this.
Pakenham – Race 6 8:30PM AEST
No. 10 Coup De Tonnerre – Bet Now: $5.00
Coup De Tonnerre finished his last campaign with a dominant win at Bendigo and it would not surprise to see him go to another level this campaign.
It has been a while since he was seen at the races and he should take good improvement from this effort, but he does have plenty of upside and Craig Williams in the saddle is a big positive.
Pakenham – Race 8 9:30PM AEST
BEST BET: No. 3 Altai Ranger – Bet Now: $4.80
Altai Ranger led from start to finish to win at Werribee last start and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat.
Matthew Cartwright will be able to take him straight to the front in the early stages of this contest and he should get a fairly easy time of it.
He will give his rivals something to catch.
