Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets – Thursday 31st December, 2020

Wednesday will see plenty of quality thoroughbred racing across the country with our focus being on the meeting at Echuca in Victoria. Take a look at our horse racing tips and best bets for Thursday 31st December, 2020.

Echuca – Race 4 1:30PM AEST

No. 5 Annemiek– Bet Now: $9.00

Annemiek has been up for a long time but there is no knock on her recent form.

The six-year-old mare was unlucky not to finish in the minors last start at Geelong over the same trip where she chased home the speed from a similar gate.

She doesn’t win out of turn, but she did score on debut at this venue and hasn’t been all that far off in each off her last four runs. She loves this track and is well deserving of another win.

Echuca – Race 5 2:05PM AEST

No. 2 Kansino – Bet Now: $2.90

Kansino strips fitter for her last start runner-up at Wodonga where she was the beaten favourite over a touch shorter in a Benchmark 64.

This a touch easier for the Maher and Eustace-trained mare and she should enjoy a nice run up on the speed under apprentice Madison Lloyd.

The wide gate makes things a little tricky, but she’s placed previously third-up and looks set to make amends for her previous shortcomings.

Echuca – Race 6 2:40PM AEST

EACH WAY: No. 12 Ocean Drive – Bet Now: $9.50

Ocean Drive was enormous first-up at Terang where she exploded with a nice late run to grab second over the same trip.

This is a much tougher contest, but if she produced that same turn of foot down the straight, she should be somewhere in the photo.

The four-year-old mare gets in much better at the weights compared to some of the favourites and she’s only improving with each start.

Echuca – Race 7 3:20PM AEST

BEST BET: No. 3 High Delta – Bet Now: $4.60

High Delta has put in plenty of work for another win and he should be rewarded here stepping back in both trip and grade.

The Maher and Eustace-trained four-year-old ran on well for third two starts back over the mile and wasn’t far off over this same track and distance earlier in his prep carrying the same weight for third.

He’s drawn to tuck in nicely off the speed and is the deserving favourite.
