Akaka Falls has been racing well without winning this campaign and he has an excellent chance to score a maiden race win this afternoon.
He wasn’t beaten far behind Irish Impact at Mornington last start and this race is no tougher.
Joe Bowditch will take him straight to the front in the early stages of the race and he will give his rivals something to catch.
Mornington – Race 4 3:00PM AEST
No. 6 Volatile Stock – Bet Now: $3.50
Volatile Stock returned to the races with a second place finish behind Justwins at Kilmore and he was unlucky not to come away with his maiden race win.
He should take good improvement from that performance and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Daniel Moor in the saddle.
This is his chance to claim a maiden race win.
Mornington – Race 5 3:30PM AEST
No. 4 Our August Rose – Bet Now: $3.30
Our August Rose has gone to another level this campaign and she has recorded two wins from her past three race starts.
The way that she put away her rivals at Kilmore last start was particularly impressive and she was able to put a genuine margin over what was a fairly strong field.
Barrier one is perfect and she will have every possible chance in the run.
Mornington – Race 7 4:30PM AEST
No. 3 Archipeta Beach – Bet Now: $4.80
Archipeta Beach returned to the races with a classy win at Kyneton and it would not surprise if she is able to go to another level this campaign.
The Kuroshio filly has always shown plenty of potential and she is now starting to deliver the goods.
I am surprised that she isn’t a clear favourite and the $5.50 currently available is well and truly over the odds.
